Wawita

This body is one of the Nasca mummies discovered in Peru. It has been named Wawita, meaning “baby” in Quechua (an ancient Andean language still in use today).

Species: Hybrid
Three-fingered hands and feet, but probably mutilated
Approximate age of specimen: 6 or 8 months
Presence of cranial sutures
Cranial volume 19% larger than that of a human of the same age and size
Mummified remains in the skull
